Fall has entered the chat.
And while we’re not quite ready to say goodbye to every warm afternoon, we are ready for the shoes.
This season is giving us plenty to work with: tall boots, chunky loafers, animal prints, rich reds, statement heels and those perfectly in-between pairs that make getting dressed when the forecast is all over the place a whole lot easier.

Here are the fall shoe trends for 2026 currently taking over our mood boards—and our closets.
1. Boots Are Back
Shorter days. Taller boots. We don’t make the rules.
If there’s one shoe that makes it feel like fall has officially arrived, it’s the boot. This season, there’s no single silhouette calling the shots, either.
Tall boots are back with everything from dresses and mini skirts to denim, while ankle boots remain the pair you can throw on without thinking twice. Add Chelsea boots, lace-ups, platforms, western-inspired shapes and heeled styles to the mix, and boot season is looking very good.

School may or may not be on your schedule, but the dress code is definitely influencing our closets.

4. Take a Walk on the Wild Side
Playing it safe? Not today.
Animal print shoes is back in the fall conversation, and we’re treating it like a neutral—with considerably more personality.
Leopard is an easy place to start, whether it shows up on a boot, flat, loafer or heel. Pair it with denim, black, chocolate brown or your favourite basics and suddenly the shoes are doing all the work.
No complicated styling required.
5. Red-y or Not
Fall’s usual browns and blacks have some competition.
Red and burgundy shoes are bringing colour to the season, from rich wine tones to brighter pops that refuse to blend into the background.
The easiest way to wear the trend? Keep the rest of your outfit simple and let your shoes have their moment. A red flat with denim. A burgundy loafer with trousers. A statement boot with an otherwise neutral outfit.
Sometimes one good pair is all the colour you need.
6. After Hours
Your heels aren’t clocking out at 5.
This fall, heels are less about saving something for a special occasion and more about finding an excuse to wear them.
